NASA: Warmest Decade in History. 2010 Could Be Warmest on Record

According to a new report by NASA, January 2000 to December 2009 was the warmest decade in recorded history. 2009 tied with 2006 and 2007 as the second warmest year on record.

According to NASA "The near-record temperatures of 2009 occurred despite an unseasonably cool December in much of North America."

That means that solar protection from intense radiation will continue to be necessary to obtain heat relief, especially with older glass that is not low-E.

NASA "estimates that there’s a good chance 2010 will be the warmest year on record if the current El Niño persists....Warmer surface temperatures also tend to occur during particularly active parts of the solar cycle, known as solar maximums, while slightly cooler temperatures occur during lulls in activity, called minimums."

“In 2009, it was clear that even the deepest solar minimum in the period of satellite data hasn’t stopped global warming from continuing,” said Hansen.

What about global warming? "There's a contradiction between the results shown here and popular perceptions about climate trends," Hansen said. "In the last decade, global warming has not stopped."

With or without warming, we are due for another Hurricane season starting June 1. Are you protected from the sun and hurricane-force winds?

Emergency Helicopter Following Boat on Clear Lake

Anyone know what this emergency helicopter was doing following this small boat across Clear Lake today (Sunday) about 11:30 a.m.? It hovered just behind the small boat as it went across the lake.

I had the camera on video so it is a bit shaky..

This blog by the President of Armor Glass is based on over thirty years experience with technology worldwide. Its focus is making people aware of both potential threats and the technology that can protect them from both human intrusion and mother nature's fury.

I have been doing since since producing TV videos in the 1990's which warned about the potential of a terrorist attack (some, including this 1994 TV program, are posted on YouTube at this link). And you know how well that turned out.

Hottest Decade Happened During Solar Minimum - Impact on Tomorrow's Weather?

I came across a NASA article that discusses an issue that could impact our future weather - the sun's cycle. Check out this chart which shows we are at a "solar MINIMUM."

The decade just ending was the hottest on record. This occurred while we are in a solar minimum. So the question is: How HOT will it get when the sun returns to the 'solar maximum'?

In my opinion, neither health care, nor the wars in the Middle East, nor anything else will matter if we let our own emissions destroy a natural cycle that has existed in an established range for the prior 800,000 years.

Temperatures are now spiking in a straight line UP, breaking that cycle. And that was during the least amount of solar heat during the sun's 11 year solar cycle.

In the years ahead, the sun's cycle will be on its natural cycle of going UP, as you can see from the chart.

Hotter temperatures, more powerful hurricanes are the natural factual conclusions. It would really be bad for business if we wreck our planet for our kids and grandkids. There will be no business.

Look at it this way. If the climate change proponents are wrong, at worse we end up with cleaner energy sources and cleaner air/water. If the climate skeptics are wrong, we end up with a dead planet. Which is worse?

All of this means that our security window film, which blocks both SOLAR HEAT and prevents breach of windows that leads to roof loss and destruction of a building and its interior will even more necessary as a shield from our future weather...

More Intense Storms Predicted As the World Warms

A new study that will be released tomorrow that shows what is likely to happen as the planet warms up - they predict that the number of big CAT 4 and CAT 5 storms could increase by as much as 81%! The study was done by scientists at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

While you can choose to ignore scientists and their models - which vary - the bottom line is that those of us who live near the coasts could be subjected to more storms like Hurricane Katrina and that we need to be better prepared to deal with them.

Since the beginning of the year, we have been getting a lot of calls about our security film. We have a backlog already. Remember the story of the three little pigs? Only the one who built a strong house survived the "wolf" at the door. In this case, the "wolf" is mother nature.

Hurricane season starts again June 1. Are you prepared? If not, call us to come measure your house (no obligation) for a free quote.

It's Summer in Australia - And BOILING. Precursor for US?

Photo: Australia Burns

While an unusual cold snap -- brought down by the jet stream -- has frozen three continents, it is SUMMER south of the equator. And they are BOILING.

Here is a link to a story on Australia's hottest summer in a half century - at night the LOW has been 93 F!

This could be a sign of what next summer will bring us along the U.S. coast north of the equator (when the seasons shift back). Australia's heat could mean we get another HOT summer. That means both air conditioning breakdowns and huge energy bills.

And since the "El Nino" effect that protected us in 2009 is leaving, the hurricanes will be BACK - having no hurricanes was a freak event. And if we get another summer of excessive heat then we could be looking at BIGGER hurricanes --earth's mechanism from throwing off that built up heat.

That makes our solar/hurricane film, which protects you from both the SUN and the HURRICANES, even more of a protective necessity from these weather extremes.

Here is what the Australian weather expert said:

"Over the last 50 years there is no doubt in Australia, we've seen a rising temperature trend," he said.

Earlier this month, meteorologists said the last 10 years had been the hottest on record in the country.

Firefighters in South Australia fought three bushfires, and code red fire warnings remain in place for Victoria and New South Wales.

Protection from Arsonists and Fire Bombs

The recent church fire bombings in Malaysia are further examples of how our security film could prevent damage to buildings. Windows were broken out by the fire bombs, which then burned the buildings.

Our film would prevent the breach of the glass by the fire-bomb, keeping it from penetrating the building with its flames. Yes, the outside was exposed, but it could be extinguished without damage to the interior. With brick buildings, the glass is the only weakest link to a fire bomb penetrating the structure.

In Herat, Afghanistan, mortars were fired at the new U.S. consulate (formerly a hotel), breaking windows. Again, our security film would have provided protection it did not have.

Stay tuned for more examples how Armor Glass film can protect you and your property, weather it is in Malaysia, Afghanistan or anytown USA...
